Latest Updates from Our Project:

We're on Track!
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Jul 19, 2018 at 03:39:11 PM

Hey friends, it's been a while! Sorry for the radio silence. Here's the news you've been longing to hear:

The digital version of Star Crossed will be delivered to you by the end of July!

We had some delays, and layout took longer than expected, and we do apologize for that. But the end product will be so much more elegant, useful, and gorgeous for it. Just look at Brennen's incredible work!

For those of you who added on some digital products during the BackerKit phase, we have all the other digital packages ready for delivery, and we’ll be making them available first directly through BackerKit, and then providing coupons on DrivethruRPG.

You've been a patient and considerate bunch, backers. We truly appreciate it.

New Partnership with GPI

This is the reason we've been a bit distracted lately! We were introduced to the fine folks at Grand Prix International and just knew they were the perfect fit to manufacture Star Crossed. With its tumblin' tower, tearaway character sheets, and colourful booklet, Star Crossed is a delicate project, and one look at GPI's resume said they were the best people to handle it.

This will not delay the delivery of physical copies of the game - we are on track to ship from our warehouses in November.

(I admit I swoon at the idea of people playing Star Crossed in a cozy Christmas setting)

See you at Ropecon!

I've been invited to be the Guest of Honour at the roleplaying convention Ropecon in Helsinki, Finland, July 26 - 29th! Obviously I am over the moon excited and thrilled and honoured and kinda blown away? It'll be a wonderful time. If you're in or near any of the Nordic countries, I think you should stop by this con and say hi!

I'm Honored and extremely Guestful.

Remember, friends - if you want to keep up with us, Twitter and Facebook are great ways to do it. Our monthly-ish Newsletter has lots of fun updates and exclusives as well!

We'll be back soon with your Star Crossed final PDFs! Thank you again for your patience; you're the best backers ever <3

Reminder: Please Complete Your Surveys by July 1st!
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 25, 2018 at 10:52:51 PM

Hello Friends!

It looks like 87% of you have completed the surveys we sent out via BackerKit - that's great! These surveys are how you tell us where to ship your game, and how to credit you in the thank-you page of the rules booklet. You can also add other games from the Bully Pulpit library while you're at it, including hardcover copies of The Warren and Night Witches, which are not available anywhere else!

Let's get that completion rate to 100%. Please fill out your BackerKit surveys by July 1st. After that date, we will be closing BackerKit and charging cards for any products you added via the survey. You'll be able to update your shipping address until we're ready to ship the game in November :) but you won't be included in our thank-yous in the game, or be able to add extra products to your order :(

If you haven't received your survey, click here to access it, or email us at [email protected].

Status Report

Our editor Karen Twelves is currently doing her final pass on the laid-out text for the print version of the game. After that, Brennen can make his final tweaks, and it's off to the printer! The text then needs to be laid out for the letter-sized print-and-play verison, because like, who prints 6x9?

Thank You For Visiting us at Origins

We had a blast.

We showed off our games (including the upcoming Fiasco Redux aka Fiasco II aka Fiasco-in-a-Box aka 2 Fiasco 2 Furious), chatted with some friendly and enthusiastic congoers, and had some laughs at the Ghost Court Live show. (Huge thanks to Hashtag Comedy and TBD for making that happen!)

To those of you who stopped by to say hi: thank you so much. Shaking your hands was the highlight of my con. It's awesome to be able to thank you in person for your support!

Thanks for making the con awesome. And thanks for completing your BackerKit surveys, which I assume you are rushing off to do now if you haven't already.

You'll make me as happy as I am when the tower falls at 19 pulls.

BackerKit Surveys and Pre-Orders are Now Ready!
almost 6 years ago – Tue, Jun 12, 2018 at 06:48:01 PM

Your BackerKit Survey is on its Way!

Surveys are ready in BackerKit and are being emailed out in waves, so you should receive yours in the next day or so. When your survey email arrives, you'll be able to confirm your contact information, let us know how you'd like to be credited in the rules booklet, and add additional items to your order—more Star Crossed or other items from the Bully Pulpit Games library! (That includes stuff you can't get anywhere else, like the hardcover edition of Night Witches.)

Please note that this is your chance to change your pledge level if you like—if you signed up at the Internet Crush level for the PDF but now you want the print edition, you can select the "switch your pledge level" or reward level links to choose that option.

You'll also be able to claim your Star Crossed enamel pin, which comes at no cost for Beloved Edition backers and above. All backers can add as many pins as they like at an exclusive pre-order price as well.

If your shipping address changes after you fill out the survey, no worries! Just log in again and update it in BackerKit. We'll be confirming that information just before we ship everything out toward the end of the year.

Pre-Orders!

Have your friends, family, coworkers, and society at large been jealous that you jumped on the coolest Kickstarter ever when they didn't? Be a kind human and send them the link to this Star Crossed pre-order form. Everyone will probably be eternally grateful.

If you have any questions about the survey or pre-order process, you can always email us at [email protected]! We'll be doing our best to check that even as we're at Origins this weekend.

Oh yeah—we're at Origins!

Come say hello at Booth 823! We'll be there all weekend doing demos and generally being approachable and fun. Sign a brick on the BPG tumbling tower! Grab a copy of my twitter-based party game Dril Down! And on Friday, join us at Shadowbox Live for an evening of ghoulish musical legal disputes, courtesy of TBD: The Improvised Musical! Their version of Ghost Court is gonna be a game changer, we think.

Looking forward to Night Witches: The Musical someday.

See you there!

Hello, Backers!

And prepping for Origins Game Fair in Columbus, OH, June 13-17 2018! We'll be at Booth 823 with our friends at Indie Press Revolution, running demos of Star Crossed, Ghost Court, and more! Including a very special work-in-progress...

Kind of exciting!

And on Friday, don't miss TBD: The Improvised Musical's special presentation of Musical Ghost Court! 30 tickets will be available free of charge to anyone with an Origins badge, at Indie Games on Demand - first come first serve! You can also reserve a ticket from TBD directly for just $10. Look out for a special cameo from our own seasoned improv vet, Jason Morningstar...

(Psst! I'll have a little game for you in my pocket, too! Just ask!)

What an honour!

One of my favourite gaming events, Big Bad Con, has invited me out as a special guest! BBC takes place in Oakland, California and is everything a con should be: welcoming, safe, relaxed, and stuffed to the gills with tabletop and live-action games that you definitely want to play. I had so much fun playtesting Star Crossed there last year - it'd be pretty cool to bring the final product this time around. I'd love to see you there, too. You can get your ticket now via their Kickstarter (and tons of other exclusive goodies too.)

I love those Best Coast cons.

Important Shipping Update

Exciting news for our international backers! We’re partnering with GamesQuest in the UK to handle the fulfillment for Star Crossed for every backer outside the U.S. That means substantially lower shipping rates than our previous estimates, and no VAT charges within the EU. We hope that helps make your decision to grab the Beloved boxed edition of the game feel even better!

We’re still wrapping up the final details in BackerKit but we’ll be sending out surveys soon. When you get the notification about that, you’ll be able to adjust your order, select any add-ons, and pay for shipping at that time. Please respond as quickly as possible so that we can be sure to get your names into the game before it goes to the printer!

Playing Star Crossed?

We want to hear about it! Comment here, reach out to us personally at [email protected], or use #StarCrossedRPG - I search it on Twitter constantly. And every shout-out makes me smile.

Cheerfully yours,

We Did It!!!

Or better to say: you did it.

The general feeling at BPGHQ right now. For different reasons.
The general feeling at BPGHQ right now. For different reasons.

Your support for our sweet, strange, lovely little game means that something very different will be on game store shelves by the end of this year. Something about love. Something about listening to what's inside your own heart, and being as careful as you can with the heart of another. This is a dream come true for me.

After a little long-awaited rest, we'll be in touch about the practical details. For now: thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last month. We can't wait to get this thing in your hands.
